Geography: Nearly completely surrounded by the Bitterroot National Forest including the Sapphire Mountains to the east and the Bitterroot Mountains to the west.   Stevensville is bordered on the west by the Bitterroot River.

Transportation: Stevensville is located on Highway 93 between Hamilton and Missoula.  Hamilton is 18 miles south, and Missoula is 25 miles north. Missoula International Airport is located in West Missoula.

Weather: Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 75° in June, 85° in July, and 83° in August, with average lows in the high 40s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 1.6 inches.  The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 34° in December, 33° in January, and 40° in February, with average lows in the high teens.  The average snowfall in December and January is 6 inches.
