Geography: Canyon Ferry Lake is 20 minutes east of Helena.  West of town is Helena National Forest, and the Missouri River flows east of town.  East of the Missouri are lie the Big Belt Mountains and the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness.

Transportation:  Helena is located along Interstate 15 near the junction of highway 287 and highway 12.  Helena Regional Airport offers service from Delta, Horizon, Big Sky, and Northwest Airlines. 

Weather: Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 72° in June, 83° in July, and 81° in August, with average lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 2.1 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 33° in December, 29° in January, and 35° in February, with average lows in the mid teens. The average snowfall in December and January is 8 inches.
