Geography: Hardin is located on the banks of the Bighorn River north of Bighorn Lake. The Prior Mountains and Bighorn Mountains are located south of town in the Crow Indian Reservation. The majority of country surrounding town is ranchland and farms.

Transportation: Hardin is located along Interstate 90 east of Billings. Billings Logan International Airport is located 64 miles away offering full service flights.

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 81° in June, 90° in July, and 89° in August, with average lows in the high 40s to low 50s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 1.99 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 37° in December, 33° in January, and 41° in February, with average lows in the single digits to low teens.  The average snowfall in December and January is 5.2  inches.
