Geography: Baker is located in eastern Montana. Baker Lake sits within the city limits. The Yellowstone River is west of town.  Little Beaver Creek is south of town running into the Little Missouri River just inside the North Dakota line.  Custer National Forest is south of town at Ekalaka, home of the Chalk Buttes.

Transportation: Baker, Montana sits at the intersection of Montana Highway 12 and Montana Highway 7.

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 77° in June, 90° in July, and 88° in August, with average lows in the mid to high 50s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 3.03 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 34° in December, 31° in January, and 34° in February, with average lows in the single digits to low teens.  The average snowfall in December and January is 4.8  inches.
