Geography: Chinook is located on the Hi-Line. The Milk River runs south of town. The surrounding areas is primarily grasslands and rolling hills, with the Bears Paw Mountains to the south.

Transportation: Chinook, Montana is located on the Hi-Line, US Hwy 2, at the intersection of Hwy 240.  The closest international airport is located in Great Falls some 167 miles southwest of town.

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 77° in June, 86° in July, and 84° in August, with average lows in the high 40s to low 50s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 2.42 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 31° in December, 25° in January, and 33° in February, with average lows in the single digits.  The average snowfall in December and January is 6  inches.
