Geography: The gateway to the upper Missouri River; northeast of town the Teton River and Marias River flow into the Missouri.  The Highwood Mountains, in the Lewis and Clark National Forest, are southeast of town.

Transportation: Fort Benton, Montana is 44 miles northeast of Great Falls on US Highway 87. 

Weather:  Average high temperature in the summer ranges from 77° in June, 86° in July, and 85° in August, with average lows in the high 40s to low 50s.  June usually has the most rainfall with an average of 2.71 inches. The average high temperature in the winter ranges from 36° in December, 32° in January, and 40° in February, with average lows in the single digits to low teens.  The average snowfall in December and January is 12 inches.
